Mortimer stepped through the doorway of the bakery, over head the blue and white sign that read “Mabel’s” swayed happily in the warm spring breeze. The morning was bright, mercifully warmer considering the long cold winter that swallowed the City of Gates this year. Once inside, he found the Mabel’s daughter working behind the sales counter. “Good Morning, Mortimer,” Constance said. Typically, it had been a long morning for the bakers. They had to wake before dawn to create fresh delights for the breakfast crowd. Despite the exhaustion visible in her blue eyes, her smile was warm, “Mother is in the back. Go ahead.”
Note: Join us Saturday, February 27th through Monday, March 1st in the Auvrynon chat rooms for mischief and mayhem as the Imps of Passions Folly and the Fae of the Amberleaf Clan descend upon the City of Gates in search of the rare Sericea Honey. This prelude to Lovers Day in Auvrynon, March 2nd, is sure to be fun for everyone!

Home Page Link Requirements

This year Mystical Realms has expanded in new and exciting ways. The addition of the Outer Realms has proven to be very popular and we are glad that MR can support other storytelling genres such as Action, Contemporary Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Horror, Science Fiction, Steampunk and Western.
As our site evolves, it becomes necessary to make changes to better serve the growing and diverse population of a site of our size. One change is the implementation of requirements for chamber pages linked directly from the chat.
Everyone must now have a home page link and the page needs to comply with these new standards, which don’t take all that long to add to a page. These requirements make the chambers easier to use from the chat. Required information is as follows:
Realm icon: The appropriate realm that the character belongs, either Zatrikion or one of the Outer Realms. It is always located in the upper right of the chamber and should not be altered from its original form.
The Realm Name: To be located directly beneath the Realm Icon. Be sure to list the name of the specific realm, such as Auvrynon or the appropriate Outer Realm name such as Evanwyn.
Stats: In Zatrikion it is Mind/Body/Magic. Those are the only three stats used and the only ones that should be listed. Outer Realms each have their own requirements. There is no defined place for these, as long as they are easy to locate.
Character Description: A complete physical description is needed. Listing the eye color, height, weight, race is fine but a detailed, written description is necessary as well. We want to know what we are looking at when we see your character.
Music: If you have music on any page of your chamber, there must be an off switch.
We have provided both a simple and a detailed template for members to use. Of course, everyone is welcome to create their own pages so long as the page linked to the chat complies with the above standards.

February sees new chamber rules, an old contest, and lots of love all around! The Chamber Contest is underway! Oh be still my beating heart…
Spring is a particularly special time of year. And the owners of the site have decided that rather than celebrate romance in the middle of winter, to set that special day closer to the dawn of spring. To honor Zatrikion’s Day of Lovers, we will be having an Expression of Love contest. An extra loving page, perhaps some roses or puckered lips, whimsy red script, or maybe someone who decided to rip their lover’s heart out and splatter it around their page. The choice is yours! Looking for an example? The last winner of this lovely leitmotif certainly made me laugh, so here’s a second gander at the orcish love that won the day.
This Chamber Contest is going to be rewarded to one that expresses creativity and artistic form in creating a page dedicated to what his or her character loves. It gives recognition to those who take the time to expand past just the first template, turning their chambers into expressions of their character. Pages will be rated primarily on clarity, ease of navigation, creativity, use of the romance theme, as well as MR’s guidelines for chamber creation.
