Chat Preview
The heart of Mystical Realms is our personal chat room, built
especially for us.
Knowing and understanding the chat before you register is important.
Sometimes people apply without really knowing what to expect from a place that
is basically just a fancy chat room. Please take the time to look this over
so you can see just how Mystical Realms works. We hope this will help you decide if our home is right for you.
The Chat Screen
This is what the average Mystical Realms player sees while chatting.
Click on an area or the number for additional information.
Individual Areas
1. Main Chat Screen
Of course, this is where all role-playing is displayed. As you
can see, players can choose a font color that is appropriate for his/her character.
Also, we have dice, private messaging, and the ability to do action commands.
Moderators can do narration commands to add to the storyline.
2. Help/Options Bar
This is where players can access several commands that help them in the chatting
environment.
Help - Opens up a window that lists important commands and features.
Options - Opens a window that allows for changing of font colors and the uploading
of images (if appropriate).
Who's On - Gives a list of people in the public rooms and where they are located.
Logout - Used to get out of the chat.
Refresh - To clear the main chat screen on the player's monitor.
Profile - Everyone has a limited amount of space in which they can put a brief
description of their character and to list the important stats that MR uses
for combat.
Forums - A convent link that opens the forums in another window.
3. Submit Bar
This is where people enter text, send private messages, change
rooms, or create a private room.
The Room Look button is a special feature that allows people to read a description
on what a given room looks like.
4. Room Information
The realm name and room name are listed here.
As you can see, the realm name is a clickable link that goes to a page with
additional information about the realm a player is in.
5. Your Character Information
This is just a convenient reminder of what character you are
playing.
Some people like to have multiple instances of the chat open so they can play
different characters. This is to help a player keep window instances straight.
6. Moderator Section
This is for a listing of Moderators, if there are any, in the
room. As you can see, Moderators can put up maps, which when clicked upon, expand
to full size in another window. They can also make their name a link, making
it easier to put up appropriate gaming information for players to view.
7 Player Section
And finally, where the players are listed. Every name in the
room is listed in reverse alphabetical order. Players can make their name a
clickable link to their chambers created on the site. Patrons also have the
added benefit of being able to upload images directly on this page for everyone
to see exactly what their character looks like.
This was just a short demo on what to expect in the chat. Of
course, Mystical Realms is much more than just a chat.
It is a storytelling,
role-playing community.
