While the requirements for establishing a Sanctioned Fellowship are
not as stringent as those for operating a guild, we take them no less
seriously. They are an important part of the site and help to develop
lasting role-plays. Consistency and availability are key to any successful,
long-term role-play. If you start up a Fellowship, enthusiastically sign
up friends, but only have 2 days a month you can play, it’s not fair to
the players you’ve enlisted.
Again it is commitment and activity we are looking for.
Before approaching management
Fellowships work best with small groups like merchants,
members of a family or even tribal clans. They use the club sections,
which are great as private forums. They are a way for members to keep
in contact with each other beyond what is capable over messengers and
the public forums. So, if you have no use for a private forum, than you
have no need of a Sanctioned Fellowship.
Usually, not as much of a time commitment is needed
to operate a Fellowship as a guild. But, it still requires work on a weekly
or even a daily basis and this will take away from your online RP time.
So, please consider carefully. Even within the safe confines of a group
of friends, internal struggles can develop. So, be prepared to deal with
the members in a levelheaded manner. Tossing someone out of a Fellowship
because they do not see eye-to-eye with you will only have your other
members wondering if they might be next on the chopping block. We don’t
say this to scare anyone off, rather to give you a realistic view of what
it can be like.
You need a minimum of two other people beside yourself;
this is mandatory for many reasons. Members present new perspectives,
variance and help with conflict resolution. All of which generates more
RP and furthers interest by others in your Fellowship and the general
populace.
Active role-playing is a must and while chat RP is
necessary and fun, posting in the forums is also highly recommended. We
love to read about happenings in the IC forums about various groups. The
forums are an important tool in attracting members to your society, as
candidates, allies or enemies.
Contact Administration
If you believe that your Fellowship will be a valuable addition to Mystical Realms and know you have the drive to make it succeed, then it is time to send an email to Administration.
Include your character name, the Fellowship name and what it stands for, also provide the character names of the other members you currently have. Please designate an email to be used for people with questions to get in touch with you; all Fellowship leaders are listed on the contact page of Mystical Realms.
Once Accepted
If you are granted a Sanctioned Fellowship, the next step
is to create the Fellowship in the club section. You will be given
a club to create your Fellowship in, if additional webpages are desired,
feel free to create them within your character chamber. Being comfortable
with html is helpful. If you feel that another site character that reflects
the Fellowship name is needed, then ask for one and it will be provided.
All webpages created in association for your Fellowship must be located
on the Mystical Realms server.
The first priority will be to create your Fellowship
page before adding any members other than the Fellowship co-owner, if
you decide to appoint one. Having an interesting Fellowship page will
draw attention to your RP and generate interest both OOC and IC. It is
your job to inform the CO-owner of his/her responsibilities, whatever
you decide they will be.
Each Fellowship must have a mission statement listed clearly on the
club main page so that anyone can read it and understand what your Fellowship
is about. Also include whether or not you are accepting new members, where
the Fellowship is located and any other information to help members decide
if the Fellowship is right for them. All Fellowships
are required to remain public, although that does not mean you have to
allow the public access to your internal workings, such as the forums.
Once you’ve completed the Fellowship home page, it needs approval by
Pashen before you may add members. Contact her either in chat or by email
when you are ready.
A front page icon will be set up for your Fellowship once it’s been
approved. As a Fellowship owner, you will be required
to post at least once a month on the home page. You will not be given
reminders about this. If you fail to do so at the end of the second month,
the Fellowship will be considered abandoned and removed from Mystical
Realms.
Keep in mind, due to the amount of work necessary to head up a successful
Fellowship, a person is only allowed to own one. However, this does not
limit your ability to join other guilds or Fellowships.
Finally, if you need time away because of online downtime or RL issues,
it is your responsibility to contact Administration.
