I have been noticing a growing trend within the world of Mystical Realms. It’s not a bad trend, persé, but it is definitely a rut. There seems to be an abundance of characters floating around, who are, for all intensive purposes, at the top of their game. And as I have already stated, such a thing isn’t necessarily bad. Everyone likes to have a character who, when the chips are down, is able to come through in a pinch. A character who has achieved the hallmark of a given strength. Warriors, adept with weaponry and hand to hand combat, or mages, with the knowledge of libraries worth of spells and incantations. And there has also been a rise in the number of characters, possessing both attributes.

What defines power and respect in the world of Roleplaying? In general, we each have a player that we admire, respect, and want to roleplay with to get a feel for what it is about. We have that one player that we can look up to, perhaps mimic, and strive to have that kind of power and respect in the worlds we play in. As players, we create our own individuality, our own personas, quirks, strengths and weaknesses, each striving to gain power in the world we play in.
