The Summarised Life of Edmund Ironsides so Far... Edmund Ironsides was born not more than 28 years ago, the son of a moderately wealthy iron merchant. He lived in the middle class region of Ravnglade, much of his youth with only his mother, for his younger brother (by two years), Andrew, spent much time with their father.
When the father died (he was twenty at the time) he refused to take over the mercantile past of his father, as was wont. His brother, instead, took over the business. Edmund had chosen the path of a city guard, always interested in them. Even this, though he did not stick with. Despite his departure, three things were gained in his time as a guard: He began worshipping Helm fervently, and now carries Helm's holy symbol, a staring eye with a blue pupil on the front of an upright war gauntlet. He also gained his arms (a spear with a lugged spearhead and a counterweight which is a not as sharp, circular backspike, as well as a heavy hilted shortsword he called a 'cat gutter') and armour (chainmail hauberk under breastplate, and greaves). He also learned how to use his weapons and armour (now able to throw the spear and use it in melee with great accuracy and skill). He has gone out on a few adventures for wealthier merchants, slaying orcish bandits and the like, the source of his wealth for enchanting his weapons. However, his armour is of poor quality compared to his arms. Later, his armour was changed to a gift of Helm himself: Enchanted full plate. He has been given the title of Watchknight at the Temple of Helm in Auvrynon. He has found a sedentary occupation as one of the Temple's Watchknights, therefore, and can be found there most often. |

![]() Arms and Armour His 5' 8" poll-hammer with the symbol of Helm on opposite sides of the shaft, Crushing Hand of the God, has been enchanted by a few mages to great magical sharpness (on the spikes) and strength. It allows him to strike any incorporeal creature, and wound a creature that is immune to damage from normal iron weapons (such as old dragons and werewolves).
His short sword, which he has named C'tair, has the same properties as the Bec du Corbin, with the exception of the ability to strike incorporeal creatures. His full plate armour constantly appears to be burnished. It gives Edmund a small amount of magical protection from physical blows, and the armour itself is immune to corrosion it also gives Edmund some protection against acid. ![]() |
