Edmund Ironsides
Watchknight of Helm
Mind: 20
Body: 8 (5 for pole-hammer)
Magic: 14
A Brief History
Edmund was born not more than 28 years ago, the son of a moderately wealthy iron merchant. He lived in the middling region of Ravnglade. When his father died eight years ago his brother assumed responsibility for the family business, and Edmund joined the Ravnglade city guard. Though his time there only lasted a few years, it was a powerful, formative experience for him. There he was brought to the worship of Helm, God of Guardians, and there he got his taste for combat, his first set of weapons and armor.

He left the guard for what he felt was a higher calling in the temple of Helm, and rose to the rank of Watchknight. Though happy in that job the mystical vortex ripped him from his parish there, but his god had a presence in Auvrynon and Edmund took on nearly identical duties there, content with his lot in life.
Arms and Armour
Edmund bears two weapons. The first is an enchanted pole-hammer of 17 hands in length, hardened and sharpened through the blessings of Helm. It hits harder and bites deeper than similar weapons, and can even harm mighty creatures like werewolves and dragons. He also carries a fine short sword with similar properties.

His plate armor shines through rain and mud, and seems impossible to tarnish. It bears enchantment as well, and blows that would normally strike Edmund in a vulnerable area, or even crush or pass through the plate, often are at times deflected at the last moment. Of course, this is nowhere near impervious as the scars, a few quite fresh, on the watchknight's body attest.
