Items

Apathy, her sword won in fair combat. Its blade is decorated, symbols and shapes that glow, capture magic and return it to sender (1d20, beneath ten is regarded as unsuccessful, higher is success relative to the result).

There is really no explaining it; simply assume the success of her return and note its trail of change. Pointed ears remain (repierced, no matter the pain) and tattoos flicker in and out of sight across tanned, silken skin. Boots and breeches are worn and trouble is caused. Thick, straight hair carries a tint of dark red. Eyes have lost their amber hue and simply remain dark. But it is the smouldering wildness, unleashed and uninhibited, lurking behind an often steady gaze, with only the faintest of movement about her pout to suggest trauma. Trauma is correctly calling the transition back to life, a blurred memory of how much it hurt and how, when she awoke, she couldn’t even stand to thank him. How could she? He had killed everything she loved. It’s a bitter taste, regret and it makes one angry. Tarken’s fury is so well buried that sometimes she even forgets it’s there and slides into unexpected pleasantries, free of sarcasm or cynicism. A shadow of her former self, perhaps, but all the darker for it. She moves like a reckless impulse, a feral elegance and grace, an answer to every destructive prayer. Her temperament is matched only by her self-assurance, a confidence and command she carries easily on her slender shoulders. She is unfettered, utterly, and its prospect will be realised in time.
