Batmen are a wingless creature, about 5 to 6 feet in height and have shorter skinnier arms along with long legs that are used to propel them across the canyon. They are dark furred creatures with red eyes, long claws for digging into the dirt and sharp teeth for eating.

Batmen are believed to be a horribly deformed race of vampires that mostly stick to themselves. They will attack in groups however, using their claws and fangs to rip and nip at any that might threaten their nests in the dark caves.

Batmen live in colonies deep in the caverns beneath the humid mists. The males mate with several females who lay at least 3 eggs per mating season. The eggs are laid in precarious spots dug out by the males and the embryos usually take 2 months to grow and hatch. It is said the eggs of the Batmen are a delicacies in CleftEdge, if one can get into the cave during the day to snatch the eggs. They are a nocturnal creature that hunts in groups, as well as attack in groups.
