Blood Hornets

Size/Catagory: Fine Construct-Vermin (Insectoid)
Stats:

Mind: 20
Body: 14 for stinging.
Magic: 20

Number of Attacks: 1.
Damage/Attack: By stinger.
Special Attacks: Shadow Poisoning. Injecting their 'poison' via their stingers, they actually press into the creature a small dot of liquified darkness. After a few moments, the dot begins to expand outward, pressing all bodily tissues around it away from the growing sphere. Within ten minutes, it will have formed a boil an inch wide, composed of the tar-like substance, with a slightly armored shell. Fifteen minutes later, the 'shell' hatches, and produces a new trio of Blood Hornets.
Special Defenses: None.
Special Abilites: Infravision, scent tracking.
Magic Resistence: Nil.

Climate/Terrain: Warm climates, as being nocturnal creatures would have its toll on them in less habital areas. Deserts tend to deplete their life expectancy, whereas colder climates slow down their movement speed.
Frequency: Unique
Organization: Bound to caster, otherwise much like standard wasp nests.
Activity Cycle: Nocturnal
Intelligence: Able to understand commands, forage for food.
Language: Complicated 'Dances', much as bees do when coming across flowers and dangers to the hive. Can be commanded verbally or telepathically by their creator.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Description:
Blood Hornets are extremely territorial blood golem-like insectoid creations, bound together via interwoven shadow-bands, building nests not out of straw.. but instead humanoid flesh. Normally, they would only attack were someone to come close to their nest in question. However, upon command, and in direct view of a target, their creator can unleash them on a particular person or animal. Normally, they gather in groups of three, but in times of crisis, they will band together with other hives and ferociously attack all assailants in their territory.

Combat:
Normally un-preturbed by individuals, the creatures are extremely territorial. Well-known for attacking in triads, they will swarm out of the scattered smaller nests, and attack any bipedal creature within their territory. However, instead of aiming to kill the creature assaulted, they will sting multiple times only to fly off and leave the indruder slightly startled. After a few moments, the pain of the sting will 'miraculously' fade away to nothing, but that is only due to the fact that it is not a neurotoxin-based material. Thereby, it does not irritate or inflame the skin, merely shifts it aside.

Habitat/Society:
Being insectoid in creation and mentality, there is no social structure, or even caste composed of male and female Blood Hornets. Asexual, they reproduce by laying shadow-eggs in the bodies of living entities, so there are no complex mating dances or rituals. Building their nests out of any present dead or dying humanoid's flesh, the only tell-tale sign that gives them away from normal, ordinary hornets is the scarlet and pure ebony coloring.

Ecology:
Blood Hornets do not need any sort of nourishment to survive, but can only stay active a few months after 'birth' or creation. However, when this period of time expires, they will head back toward the nest, where they will break down into the base materials within the small hollow of the nest itself. After two have broken down, the third will actually use its stinger to make a finaly sting on the pool itself, and then let its body be consumed into base components. If left to be for around an hour, the blood will be congealed into a shadow-egg, and a new triad of Blood Hornets will be created.
