Description:
A Grey Behemoth is a gigantic, bipedal beast, coated with a thick mantle of dirty, course, matted grey hair. The first (and most important) feature to note of these beasts is, of course, their size. Standing on average at fourteen to fifteen feet tall (and this when standing hunched, as they normally do), their bodies are hulking masses of muscle, weighing several thousands of pounds. Their torso seems very much like that of a human male in its construction, in terms of height to width ratio. Their limbs are of different relative size, however. Long, muscular arms reach down from often hunched, broad shoulders to drag massive handfuls of huge, long claws along the ground, while their legs are often shorter, ending in feet with far smaller claws. Their legs are powerfully-muscled, however, allowing them to accelerate quickly up to charging speeds. The Behemoth’s head is often huge, equalling the size of its upper torso, again setting a difference in comparison to humanoid creatures. With heads hanging down somewhat, as a hunchback, their fearsome faces seem to be constantly leering forwards. Facial features such as a nose and ears are hard to make out under the thick, dirty hair that hangs all around, but large, dark irises are clearly visible within long oval slits either side of their head. Finally, the most obvious and most terrifying of the Behemoth’s features is its mouth. Encompassing almost the entirety of the lower part of its head, the Grey’s jaw line stretches almost from ear to ear, capable of opening wide enough to swallow two large men in one effort. Rows of horrible, spiking teeth lie within its huge, leathery lips, often stained dark yellow and adorned with the tattered remains of its last meal.

This fearsome appearance is often made all the more terrifying by the constant anger that seems to befall these wild monsters. Ferociously defensive, the very sight of intruders to their territory seems to send them raging into bloodlust, spurring them to attack until nothing is left standing.

With a deafening roar that has been known to shake the ground itself, and stomping strides to match, Grey Behemoths are numbered among the most terrifying of all wild animals. Indeed, it is considered very bad luck to run into one – for obvious reasons.

Combat:
When a Behemoth attacks, it cares little for its own defence. Rampaging towards its target – which is usually far smaller than itself – the momentum that the beast gathers is usually enough to crush its opponents to death straight off. Primarily using the claws of its arms to swipe as it charges forwards, the powerful, shearing stroke of these mighty weapons can tear through barricades and sever bodies cleanly in half, despite their often being quite blunt. Swatting and thrashing with desperate vigour, it rarely takes long for a Behemoth to complete its task. Surrounding and pressing into the creature with vast numbers often causes great losses, but is the only way known to effectively bring down the beasts, save for the use of powerful magics.

Habitat/Society:
Behemoths do not tend to cohabit with oneanother, but prefer to be spaced out across the wildernesses they occupy. The remaining proximity of their kin is an instinctive measure to ensure that the solitary lifestyle of the beasts is provided alongside the availability of mating partners and a group to form for protection, should the need ever arise. Needless to say, it rarely does.

Ecology:
Grey Behemoths are feral, possessing only the slightest amount of intelligence. They are carnivorous animals, capable of surviving on infrequent but large meals. They hibernate throughout the winter, hiding deep within the mountain caves they call home.
They can live for up to two-hundred years.
