Description:
The jewel jumpers are about 3 ft in height, 80 lbs being their top weight, but they are vicious creatures. They look almost primate in their bodies, with dark fur and skin, red eyes with night vision for navigating in the dark. They have extremely long claws and teeth for attack.

Combat:
They are pure meat eaters. These creatures are small but nimble, sharp claws and teeth enabling them to climb the ravine and search for smaller mammals such as rats and smaller snake like dragons to feed on. They will however feast on any who dare enter the honeycomb like caves in search of jewels. They can individually use their minds to cause earthquake like vibrations in the honeycombs, and several together can shake loose rocks and boulders from the ravine.

Habitat/Society:
They live in a series of honeycomb like mazes, usually 3 or 4 to a honeycomb that is built much like how bees build theirs. The females lay the foundation for the honeycomb while the males seal them with a glue like sealent that eventually hardens. They lay nests in the honeycombs where they lay their young. There is a symbiosis however between Jewel Jumpers and a massive dragon that lives deep within the ravine where raw emeralds, amethyst and ruby deposits can be found in clumps along the cavern walls.

Ecology:
They live in the Mourning Ravine caves, deep inside, where a treasure lives. The mouths of the caves descend into a honeycomb like maze that lead into a larger, more elite cave where lit emerald rocks bulge from the cave walls. The creatures seemingly protect the raw jewels that linger inside, but that is merely their natual environment. The caves are damp and humid, and their nests are deep inside in the black caverns.
