Description:
Mist Maw Beasts are huge in size, reaching their full adult height of 5 feet with a length of 17. They have the body of a tiger, striped with purples and blues, with a hardened ridge running the length of their spine, covered in armored plates or scales. The underbelly is white or light brown, soft and covered in fur for heat. They have no tail and their legs are shorter than the average feline making their footsteps hard, heavy and lumbering. They have a long neck covered tufts of fur and scaled armor leading to a head shaped like a lizard, The head is scaled as well, with birdlike eyes and a snout that is elongated and shaped like a beak. Mist Maw Beasts can sense flesh and blood, but are deaf.

These are strictly feral creatures with no distinct organization to their hunting skills. They use brute force to take down their intended victim with strength of body, razor sharp teeth, and the beak to gnash at flesh and blood. They also have razor sharp claws like a lion to rip and impale.

Habitat/Society:
Mist Maw Creatures are solitary creatures that only mate once a year, usually before the end of the summer months. A nest is laid consisting of three eggs, and when the hatchlings are born, they are quite vunerable, usually the size of a human male, only coated in the soft underbelly fur. The nests are usually built at Zephyr Bay or around the falls, where there is water, but discreetly hidden beneath the massive willows that line the waterfronts and piled beneath fallen leaves. They are meat eating creatures that prey on the Mists creatures, poking out of the Mist on occassion to search the emerald grounds for other sources of meat. They are akin to eating human flesh, feeding humans to their young as a strong protein source. They are a dangerous creature and can be heard outside of the mist as the ground lowly thuds from their approach.
