Description:
Tekconvin are small dragon like creatures that live in the mountains. Very rarely do they ever leave the mountains to seek out villages. In fact they are a peaceful race, killing only for food and never wasting anything. Basically, they live in harmony with their surroundings.

No one really knows the origin of this race. And until resently, they were a completely unknown speices. In many ways, they resemble wolves, but there is a lick of dragon-likness that crowns their heads and gives them a whip like tail.

Combat:
When given no other choice, they will stay and fight. Lowering their heads to the ground, they charge. Razor sharp claws can slice flesh off the bone, draw blood, and even become fatal at times. But this is far from the worse of it. For you see, as they are pack animals, you will hardly ever find one alone. Traveling in groups, they move with offspring. But when fighting, the pups are guarded by the males, and it is the females' job to ward off danger.

Also wind attacks come at their commands. Although one may only be able to summon a small whirlwind; an entire pack can combine their strength to summon a mountain size Tornado. These can especially be dangerous on the icy slopes.

Habitat/Society:
Within a pack of Tekcovin, the leader is always female, and usually she is the one with the larger crown. Packs can range anywhere from six to twenty, and a majority of them are females. One pack usually has no more than three or four males travelling with them. And it is their job to safe guard the pups.

These creatures prefer to make their homes in the snow capped mountains. Their fur coats, though they can look rather thin, are lined in body oils that help to trap heat. Their colorings come in all shades of whites, browns, blacks, and even sometimes reds, though red is a rare color among them. Almost all pups are born pure white, this helps them to hide in the snow, a sort of baby camoflague.

Ecology:
Tekcovin normally live for no more than 20 years, but some of the oldest have reached upwards of 40 years, nearly twice their expected life time. The longer they live, the larger their crown becomes, which is of the utmost importance when seeking a mate. Unfortunately for the males, they have hardly a crowning at all, usually they don't get bigger than an inch or so of stub. A female Tekcovin can have anywhere from four to fourteen pups. But after they are born, the responsibility of raising them falls to the males. There is no nursing involved in their offspring. For food they mainly seek out smaller mountainside animals, such as hare, rodents, and even some of the medium sized birds. Fortunately for them, they are on the upper levels of the food chain, so not many things will take on a pack of Tekcovin.
