Description: Wounding Willows appear as hideous walking trees, their legs are the roots of the tree, but what could be considered it's feet appear more like sword blades stepping point down into the soil.

It's body has various limbs protruding outward, most of which bear clawed hands, eyes, or small beastial maws. However only the two largest clawed hands appear able to deliver powerful attacks, as the smaller maws, and hands are never used. The main mouth of the creature rests about midway up the trunk of the thirteen foot tall creature, two glaring crimson eyes above the main mouth. The creature possesses no nose, or sense of smell.

Combat: Wounding Willows prefer to tear their victim apart using their great strength, then chomp hastily and messily upon the torn off limbs.

They rarely hide, or stalk their prey. Their attacks are almost always direct, more as though they were attacking out of rage, than any real courage. If this method proves severely damaging to the willow they can attempt to magically force their bark into a petrified state, reducing their average speed to a mere crawl but greatly increasing their ability to resist physical damage. The creature's have also been known to devour other trees of the forest or swamp to quickly regenerate their wooden bodies, or to hurl the trees at foes.

Their unique bodies are totally immune to transmutation effects, but like most things made of wood, fire is very destructive when used against them. Their petrified bodies negate this severe vulnerability, but do not make the creature immune to it. For this reason, most live in colder climates where natural temperatures and ice make production of fire more difficult. It is normal to see a willow slip from it's disguise, with several days of snow fall accumulated on it's branches for defense against flame.

Habitat/Society: Wounding Willows live in a family unit, however unlike my family or yours they reach across the planes. All willows are theorized to be telepathically connected, possibly with a central force guiding them. A Mother Willow if you will, who is responsible for the seedlings who sprung into the willow's we now know of during her migration across the planes. Several willows have been destroyed, but never is their any type of retribution from the family of them across the planes.

They prefer to be left alone, and quickly kill off any creature's entering their two mile territories. They have no need to feed upon meat, they kill for the pleasure it brings them as can be exampled in the demented destruction process they perform upon victim's. Many consider them a great evil upon the land, even a warping of nature herself, however they never leave their two mile territories forcing most less courageous king's, princes, rangers, and druids to post warnings, but otherwise tolerate the creature's presence in their forests.

Ecology: These evil trees can live for hundreds, possibly thousands of years without outside influence. During that time they fiercely keep their two mile territories void of life, save the normal trees of the forests. Some religious scholars believe this to be their eternal gift to the forces of chaotic evil, whose goal is the extermination of life, and all happiness it brings. An alternative to the schemes, and power dreams of the more intelligent forces of chaotic evil throughout the plane.
