Name: Farhmore Leaders: King Jandal ni Gwybur Type: Kingdom Capital: Farhmore Largest cities: Farhmore Location: North Central Mainlands, on the northernmost point of the Sea of Mists. Monetary unit: Common, and almost every form of coin used anywhere on Rosha - although most is appraised by weight and content, rather than the original value. Ethnicity/Race: Although the base of the resident population is human and elven, almost any race can be found in Farhmore at any given time. Language: Common and elven are most frequently spoken, but specialized translators for everything from goblin to draconic can be found - for a price. Religion: A wide variety of gods are recognized and worshiped by the different races that frequent Farhmore. The matron deity of the capital city is Veranna, shrewd goddess of trade, wealth and luck. Climate: Four distinct seasons, ranging from warm to cool. Resources: The primary resource trade, and the means to further it. Farms raise food for the kingdom, but not for export. Farhmore serves as a gateway to Ravnglade from the southern lands and the Sea of Mists. Rather than good, Farhmore provides services, from protected caravans to individual guards. Flora and Fauna: The kingdom is very well settled. Most of the land is developed for farming or grazing, and what forest lands remain have been made into royal reserves. Here deer, elk, rabbit and fox populations thrive, but the few large predators that find their way into Farhmore are promptly killed. Known Dangers: Natural dangers are almost non-existent, but the trade passing through the city draws thieves and other dregs of society like bloodworms to live flesh. Although the penalties for theft are almost as strict as the penalties for murder, for every thief hung in the gibbet it seems three more crawl out of the gutters. History: First a city, then a small kingdom, Farhmore was founded on the trade that continues to keep it thriving. Starting as a rough trade-town, it grew in leaps and bounds with the flood of traffic up the Sea of Mists and the southern lands. It currently reaches east to Elshallen, following the edges of the woodlands north and around to the west, neither reaching as far as Ravnglade nor to Starsunder Castle. |
