Name: Mica Dunes
Location: North Central Mainlands
Climate: Hot and arid, cold nights
Physical Features: The Mica Dunes are encircled by smaller mountains than her northern brother, the Burning Sands Desert, and is subject to slightly milder temperatures extremes. It is almost entirely made up of shifting dunes, the sand has a heavy concentration of mica lending a deep bronze cast to the dunes by sunlight but by moonlight the landscape explodes into a myriad of fantastical colors never seen during the day.
Fed by underground rivers that find their way to the surface, oases are more numerous in the Mica Dunes than any other desert region on the Mainlands but their locations are jealously guarded by either the tribes of human or jann that control the area. The ground is fertile in these areas allowing for small crops.
In the extreme north and east the dunes give way to expanses of salt flats. Salt is mined and transported by camel caravans across the desert.
Flora and Fauna: No vegetation in the dunes or salt flats. Date palms, orange, banana, and cotton trees as well as some crops around oases; Jackals, Camels, Sandcats, a variety of reptiles and arachnids, sandgrouse

Special Facts: There are rumors of an anient city that prospered by a glorious river. The citizens wanted for nothing and their hearts darkened. They lost the favor of their patron goddess by delving into ancient and taboo rituals, it's said the city and river was completely covered by the sands in a blink of an eye. Golden, gem encrusted artifacts have been recovered fueling these legends of the lost city. Once a magical tome surfaced that is said to have contained information on dark magicks, enslaving devils and elementals but it quickly disappeared, its current whereabouts unknown.
