The Northern Wastes

The Northern Wastes is comprised of several large landmasses located in the polar regions of the northern hemisphere of Rosha. Five of Rosha’s eleven continents are here: Ash-Akul, Shun-Akul, Jhet-Akul, Madh-Akul and Krak-Akul. Gak-Akul is smaller, off the eastern coast of Shun-Akul. First populated by the goblinoid races, the frozen northern lands were named in their language. Ash-Akul was the first land discovered, translated it means One Glacier. Shun was the second glacier-riddled land discovered in the Akul Ocean. Shun meaning two. Gak was the third with Jhet being the fourth, Madh simply named for its size, Big Glacier and Krak the fifth.

During the winter months the Akul Ocean freezes over completely in places, allowing for travel over ice between the separate lands, which brings its own hazards.
