Name: Tol Ithil
Leaders: The town council of Sarshatah, lead by Elder Chayan Ild’tuyaarah.
Type: Island nation.
Capital: Sarshatah.
Largest cities: Sarshatah; the guard outposts around the top of Hartsaiz don’t qualify as cities.
Location: In the Sea of Mists, east of Iscenden, southeast of the Twisted Forest, and southwest of Rohan Plains.
Monetary unit: Trade and barter. Among the pegataur, it is largely based on trade; services rendered and goods given in exchange for services received or goods supplied. However, the currencies of other nations are occasionally used.
Ethnicity/Race: Pegataur.
Language: Common.
Religion: No official religion. The Ithlor tend to figure that everybody has their own gods, and that they should each worship as they see fit.
Climate: Temperate. Warm, sunny summers, cool winters with light snowfall, mild spring and fall.
Resources: The island is self-sufficient; The only items of real value that could be exported are some of the more exotic flying animals that have found a home in the protected interior, and ganheh. But the Ithlor are not interested in outside trade, since it would require them to make known the location of their home.
Flora and Fauna: The walls of the island contain both forest, grove and grasslands. A wide variety of winged animals call Tol Ithil home. From snakes to cats, rabbits to frogs, everything that lives there can fly. The only exceptions to this rule are the long-finned, rainbow-scaled fish that live in the river, streams, lakes and ponds. Notably, most of the creatures that live on Tol Ithil are fairly small; the larger winged predators are kept away by the pegataur.
Known Dangers: There are very few dangers on the island, as long as the protective inclinations of the Ithlor aren’t aroused. Some of the flying snakes are poisonous, and others of the animals can be dangerous if provoked.

History: Tol Ithil bears little resemblance to the surrounding lands; in fact, it strongly resembles the massive peak and crater of some immense volcano, somehow deposed in the middle of the Sea of Mists. Perhaps it was just that, a monumental effort by the transportal that even now occasionally snatches people and objects from other worlds. However, one thing is certain; all of the creatures living there now were borne in on their own wings or fins. If at any point there was a creature native to the island, it has long since vanished, without trace. The pegataur that have settled there chose it as a refuge from the chaos and confusion of the outside world, and were originally a group of youngsters from the various pegataur clans that still live in Haven. They have since lost touch with the northern clans, perhaps from choice, perhaps from simple seclusion.
