Township of Celeste, Haven and Sanctuary
Name: Port City of Celeste
Leaders: Mayor William Castle
Type: Feudal township
Capital: Celeste
Location: Southern Coast of Andria
Monetary unit: Illandrian gold, Proudglaivan gold
Ethnicity/Race: Humans are a majority. There are some dwarves and halfbreed elves. Most elves cannot stand to stay on Andria. The people of Celeste number around twenty five hundred in summer, slightly less in winter.
Language: Common
Religion: Rare, at best. There is some worship of obscure water spirits by the fisherfolk, but most scoff at the very idea of gods.
Climate: Four seasons, all on the cool side. Being so far North, means hard winters and short summers.
Resources: Celestian fishermen are reknown for the silvered fish they catch out of their cold waters. It is considered a delicacy by many cities through out Rosha, both for its light taste, and its scarcity.
Flora and Fauna: Celeste lies on the Southern coast of Andria, hugged up against the ancient forests that fill the island. The forests are old growth, full of dense pine stands and shadowed oak groves. The harsh winters do much to keep the animal population down, but deer flourish in the spring and summer, and the wolves feed well. And there are no humanoids of any sort. At all.
Known Dangers: There are very few dangerous animals near Celeste, mainly because most beasts are magical in nature. However, there are still wolf packs to fear, as well as the harshness of the land itself.

History: The history of Celeste is as brief as the city itself. Celeste is named for the first mayor of the fishing town, who came to Andria looking for her own fresh start. It has been well documented that, for whatever reason, Andria is nearly untouched by magic. As a result wizards and priests greatly fear the place and refuse to travel there for any reason. As a result, the people of Celeste look down on magical studies of any kind.

As a result, Celeste and the other cities of Andria have become a haven of sorts from those of a magical nature. Many of those that come to Celeste on anonymous ships in the dark of night are running from a Mage's wrath or a Priest's divine anger. And, lastly, there are those with unexplained powers of the mind that have found their own powers unaffected and thus, have an advantage over most others in Andria. These would-be heros and villains find themselves in a position to make a difference here as nowhere else.
