Although they would rather avoid conflict than seek it, Snow Elves will defend themselves if pressed. They usually attack mounted on Polar Bears, using harpoons, spears, crossbows and slashing hook-bladed short swords.

Habitat/Society:
Living in small, scattered clans due to the harshness of the environment they inhabit, Snow Elves are typical of other elven races in their long life span and slow reproductive rate. The clans are very close and tend to be fairly hostile to strangers, avoiding all contact with other races when possible. They rarely leave the clan unless they are moving to another, although this is not uncommon among younger Elves looking for possible partners. Most clans tend to be fairly closely related.

Ecology:
The Snow Elves raise Polar Bear as mounts and protection, particularly against the Winter Wolves that conflict with them. They also breed Caribou, using them as pack animals, for food and furs. Seals and walrus fill out a diet of fish, and a few cold-tolerant plants are carefully nurtured, particularly the ice-pear fruit.
