Resembling nothing more than fanciful, aquatic dragons, the Taynsah find the lower pressure near the surface uncomfortable and avoid it. They are slender, graceful creatures with broad wing-fins that spread like shimmering gauze around them, skin that ripples and glows with the vibrantly kaleidoscopic iridescent colors of a living gem, and large, liquid black eyes that seem to radiate tranquillity and comfort to any who meet their gaze. This sensation is deceptive; Most species of dragon - even those of friendly nature and peaceful inclination - produce an aura of fear. The Taynsah produce an aura of peace, and reassurance, yet are in no way peaceful.

Powerful receptive/projective empaths and psionicists, the most common attack of the Taynsah is via this means. They can also use their voice as a weapon, the rich musical tones and chords of their speech having strong effects on most listeners. If neither of these options is available, they can resort to a Powerful bite from massive jaws well-endowed with long fangs, although these are primarily for defense as a last resort.

Led by the Su'taanvis, or 'One-of-three'. This is a triumvirate of linked minds, formed of the three oldest and most powerful Taynsah alive. They monitor and maintain peace among the individual Tayn Sheurriim. The greatest factor in the Tayn Sheurriim culture to consider is that they are neither carnivore nor herbivore, but rather feed on empathic emanations, preferring the ‘flavor’ of pain and fear. Breeding is dictated by the Su'taanvis, and partnership never lasts beyond a single mating. Hatching from eggs laid and abandoned in the lowest caverns of the sea, the Taynsah are born within the very heart of the Chaos Fyre nexus. Violently predatory at birth, the first to hatch of each season is usually the only one to survive, immediately falling upon the unhatched eggs and destroying them and the unborn contents, taking their first meal from the deaths of their siblings. Fortunately for the continuation of the race, the Taynsah are so long-lived that the life span of a single member has never been discovered. Death is usually caused by a decision of the Su'taanvis to terminate an individual, or conflict with another Taynsah. Many of the current population of the Kalila Sea were among the original Tayn Sheurriim to be transported there.
