The Everflow River
Name: Everflow River
Location: Southeastern Serth, sourced in the Barrier Mountains.
Climate: Cold up in the Mountains, and decidedly warmer as the river pours down the mountainside.
Physical Features: The Everflow cuts out of the mountainside and flows down a rough bed onto the plateau below and from there through the city of Sha'Meth and onward across Serth to the Western Mountains. The Everflow, inexplicably, flows from the side of Mt. Clearstream. There are a number of theories as to how this is possible, amongst the Genasi of Sha'Meth, but most simply accept it. Its waters are considered both sacred and precious, in spite of the unending streaming. It is said that the waters closest to the rivermouth are the purest of the pure and valuable due to their potency in the creation of Potions and Elemental summonings. The water Genasi consider themselves the guardians of the Everflow and will go to extreme lengths to protect the sanctity of their river.
Flora and Fauna: Plantlife flourishes on the shores of the Everflow, and the crops grown by the genasi always produce maximum yield and rarely suffer from bugs or disease. The waters are also home to freshwater fish of all kinds, and with a surprising lack of predatory reptiles.
Known Dangers: Without a doubt, the land reptiles that follow the river as it leaves Genasi territory are the greatest danger of all. The Predators feed on the grazing reptiles and anyone too slow to escape their territories.
Ethnicity/Race: The Genasi claim much of the river and its source-mountain. Further downstream, the Kraathi tribes follow the herds feeding from the river plants.
Language: Elemental, all four dialects and Dragonese, and a smattering of Giantish.
Resources: Water direct from the source is a valuable commodity for wizards interested in summoning water Elementals, and for the creation of Potions. The vitality of the waters also contribute to the growth and strength of the plants and animals in the region.
