Game animals are in plenty as well as domestic creatures. Some of the creatures are larger than normal due to having ancestors that were used in the magical experiments of the locals. Known Dangers: There are also magical experiments that roam free in the wilder parts. Black dragons known as hernmey also like to cause trouble. History: The first people of Dibeartach Deamhan were misfits, people who had left there homes or had been banished. They formed villages on Esoba and stayed that way for thousands of years. Eight hundred years ago the inhabitants of Colandar found the villages and help them to become the kingdom they are today. The dragons chose some of the people to be their ambassadors and gave them dragon forms. They became the ruling class. Over the generations the men lost the ability due to a demon taking it for his own use but the demon left the women with it. The ruling female became the guardian and the male became king. When Arishnel's uncle, King Rasim, took the throne he said the Dibeartach no longer needed the people of Colandar and this engraged the King of Colandar. He made it law that no one could speak of Dibeartach Deamhan. Many years have passed and the people rise in rebellion against King Rasim and a war is fought. Many lives are lost on both sides but Rasim is killed. Now that Rasim is dead, the rule falls on the only living female heir, Arishnel. One day, Arishnel disappeared. Some thought she was dead but her body was never found. Not long after, King Fayron was poisoned. The day he died, so did the Queen of Colandar, Karok. Also poisoned. The council of Dibeartach Deamhan and the council of Colandar work together to find who has done this. In the meantime, the kingdom falls under the Rule of Guardian Keesai. The nobles do not much like the council's choice in leader. Guardian Keesai is young. Just old enough to bare children. They say she lacks the wisdom to rule. Even though she is over a hundred years older than Arishnel was. Keesai needs to prove herself if she is to rule for long. One thing the council did not plan for was Arishnel's advisor, Hinkiro Sinor, who had been left in charge in her absence. Hinkiro was furious when the council appointed a new Guradian before Arishnel was proven dead. In time he took Keesai as his mate and took the title of King, and though she may be his mate, he does not recognize her as the sovereign leader. He knows now what he must do, the realm became unstable after the islands came together and the abrubt change in leadership. The system collapsed and a new one must be established, or that is how Hinkiro sees it. |
