The Devinton Finishing School
	Welcome to the Devinton Finishing School for Girls. Here young women are taught how to be a lady of the highest standards, as well as how to cope with the pressures of etiquette and ceremony in the royal court of Castle Chiganious. The school is owned by Lady Amber Devinton and is based in the grand house of Rose Park, Lady Amber's own, private residence. Princess Donastaysia Arequel is a co-owner with much of the money used to fund the school coming from the royal treasury itself. Due to this, there are no fees to attend the school which means any girl of any social class can apply for a place. Along with Lady Amber and Princess Donastaysia, Countess Silvia Lacroix helps to teach lessons. An education at the school lasts approximately a year (depending on the girl's progress). Once she has graduated the girl will be given the prestigious title of Lady In Waiting at the royal court of Castle Chiganious and become companion to either Queen Talimlock or Princess Donastaysia. Every year, the Queen then picks some of these Ladies In Waiting to move on to the next level and become fully fledged Ladies of the Kingdom. These new Ladies will then be given their own land, house and complete serving staff as well as a permenant place in the royal court. DESCRIPTION When one arrives at the Devinton Finishing School, you are met by a rather grand-looking, grey-stone country house. Called Rose Park, the house and its 15 acres have been the home of the Devinton family for many years. A notable member of the Devinton family being Jacob, who recently sacrificed himself in order to save the kingdom from The Organisation. A statue of him may be viewed at the Cathedral of Hope in the town. Lady Amber Devinton, Jacob's sister, is the current owner of the estate. Upon entering the house through the main entrance, one finds oneself in an oak-panelled hallway with a dark-red carpet that leads up the grand staircase to the second floor. To the left is the reception room and to the right is Lady Amber's study. The classrooms and dining hall may also be found on the ground floor, along with the conservatory and reading room at the back of the house. Girls are usually allowed to join the school from the age of 16 right up to the age of 25. As a result, there are three dormitories; one for the girls aged 16 and 17, one for the girls aged 18, 19, 20, 21, and a third for the girls aged 22, 23, 24, and 25. This is to reflect the difference in maturity in the various age groups. All of the dormitories are on the second floor with each dormitory having its own, large bathroom which all the girls shared. The third floor houses the quarters of the servants and of Lady Amber and any of the teachers who live on site. As well as the house there are vast, ornate gardens and a large field on which the girls may play croquet and socialise with one another. Return to the Shop Directory!
